Happy Dogs Rescue
Happy Dogs is a registered charity depending entirely on donations and fund raising. Lyn Williams runs the Happy Dogs Rescue near Ringwood in Hampshire. Lyn says about Happy Dogs rescue:
“We are, I am told, unique in as much as our rescue dogs are not housed in kennels but in a home environment here at the Sanctuary. Dogs are companion animals which they prove over and over again to us every day and therefore I believe they should live with us as companions.”
Happy Dogs is a registered charity and aims to:-
Aid animals and dogs in distress through injury or any other cause, and to arrange veterinary treatment where necessary.
Find good and suitable new homes for dogs in our care or that come to our attention.
Provide assistance to members of the public by means of information, education or in any way whatsoever that will enable them to directly aid animals needing treatment or help.
All the dogs that come into the Happy Dogs rescue are spayed or neutered as a matter of course before being re homed. If any bitches come into care in whelp the puppies are only re homed on a foster basis until they are six months old, they are then spayed or neutered and can then be adopted.
Happy Dogs rescue take great care to ensure that all their dogs are suitably re homed by carefully matching each dog with each owner to ensure that they never have to go through the trauma of being abandoned, abused, or re homed again. If you are interested in adopting or fostering one of the rescue dogs, they will need to know lots of information about you and your family, as well as visiting your home, before you can be considered.
Happy Dogs rescue organise various fund raising events throughout the year: table top sales, wanders and walks and the annual Happy Dogs Fun Day. Click here to check out the current Happy Dogs News and Events. In 2010 they are holding a Grand Charity Auction – date to be confirmed - so if you have anything you can offer (products or services) for this event please contact them.
